It may be cold outside but the market is still hot! Fewer homes are on the market, interest rates are low and winter buyers are typically serious buyers.

If you are thinking of selling your home this winter, these tips will help you get your home winter-ready.

Keep the temperatures up during showingsYou may be tempted to lower the temps in your home, but remember that you are selling an experience to potential buyers. During walk-throughs or open houses, you will want to create a warm, inviting atmosphere so that the people visiting your home are not shivering from the cold.

Clear Your Home of Ice and Snow. Make sure to keep sidewalks, driveways, doorways, and stairs clear for easy access.

Showcase your fireplace. If you are lucky enough to have a fireplace this would be a great time to show it off! With a gas fireplace, it is easy enough to start up before the potential buyers arrive. For woodburning fireplaces, set up the wood for a fire, thereby showing the potential of having a cozy fire!

Add Light to Your Home. During the winter months, it gets darker earlier. Lighten your home with brighter (and more) lights in the rooms of your home!

Putting your home out there in winter may seem too early, but motivated buyers are out there and waiting for that perfect home to come on to the market!  Why not make it YOURS!
